Service Description

The Closing of the Bones is an ancient postpartum ritual that honours and restores a mother after the immense journey of pregnancy and birth. It is a deeply spiritual and healing ceremony, designed to symbolically and physically “close” the body and energy that were opened during childbirth. This sacred ritual offers space for the mother to be seen, held, and supported as she integrates her birth experience and reclaims her energy, strength, and sense of self. It is an act of care, reverence, and deep nourishment — one that acknowledges not only the physical body but also the emotional and spiritual transformation of motherhood. The ceremony may include: - Guided meditation and grounding practices to settle the mind and body - Ritual wrapping of the body with scarves, symbolically closing and containing your energy - Gentle touch, massage, or movement to release tension and invite rest - Words of blessing and affirmation, honouring your journey and strength - A closing ritual to help you feel renewed, centred, and restored This ceremony can be experienced in the early postpartum weeks, or at any point in your motherhood journey when you feel called to be held, honoured, and supported. Practical Details: - Ceremony time: 1 hour (plus setup and pack down) - Price includes travel within 15km of Brisbane (extra travel fee applies outside this area) - All ritual items, setup, and facilitation are included - Allow approx. 2 hours total for the full experience Closing the Bones is an invitation to pause, to be nurtured, and to receive. It is a moment of deep care that every mother deserves — a sacred space for healing, restoration, and reconnection.
